Tuesday (07/05) marked the beginning of our efforts to enhance the playing surface at The Hunters Stadium for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Our dedicated team of volunteers poured their hearts and souls into this project, working tirelessly to ensure that our pitch is in top condition.
The day started with the meticulous application of 400kg of high-quality grass seed, along with fertiliser and top-dressing soil, meticulously spread across the pitch. This crucial step lays the foundation for a lush and vibrant playing surface that our players can be proud of.
In addition to seeding, our volunteers also focused on optimizing the drainage system at the far end of the pitch. By addressing any surface water issues, we aim to minimize the risk of waterlogging and ensure optimal playing conditions even during inclement weather.
As the day drew to a close, the sprinkler system was activated, providing much-needed hydration to our newly seeded pitch. With each drop of water, we inch closer to our goal of creating a pitch that is not just functional, but truly exceptional.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey towards enhancing the playing surface at Huntingdon Town Football Club!
