As we approach the end of May 2024, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible first season here at Huntingdon Town Football Club. It has been a journey filled with ups and downs, challenges and triumphs, but above all, it has been a journey marked by progress and growth.
One of the highlights this week has undoubtedly been the recent Under 18 Trial Exhibition game, where we witnessed over 40 talented players compete for a place in our two new Under 18 squads. The level of skill and determination displayed by these young athletes was truly inspiring, and we are excited to see the impact they will make on our club in the seasons to come.
Off the pitch, we have been hard at work making improvements to our facilities to ensure that we provide the best possible environment for our players and supporters alike. Next week, we have scheduled pitch renovations, which will involve the application of 400kg of grass seed, fertiliser, top dressing soil, and plenty of water to provide an excellent playing surface for the upcoming season. Additionally, we have plans to install new dugouts, improve the drainage system, and complete the installation of a PA system around the stadium to enhance the overall matchday experience.
One exciting addition to our stadium is the planned installation of a digital scoreboard at the home end, which will provide real-time updates and information during matches. Furthermore, we are in the process of creating a new Strength and Conditioning room, which will further support the development and fitness of our players.
Of course, none of these improvements would be possible without the tireless efforts of our dedicated Hunters Volunteers. Their hard work and commitment to the club are truly commendable, and we are immensely grateful for everything they do.
As we look ahead to the future, our aim remains unchanged: to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in everything we do, from our facilities and equipment to our coaching and management. We are committed to continuously improving and evolving as a club, and we are excited for what the future holds.
